Spa recommendations? in London and beyond

If you’re depressed by the British winter and its very short days, we’re probably all ready for a spa break. Have you tried any spa you particularly liked and would be ready to recommend?

Here are my own tried and tested recommendations. In London: the Mandarin Oriental has excellent in-depth massages and treatments in a very intimate setting; the Berkeley Hotel has a lovely pool overlooking Hyde Park; the Four Seasons is nice for pampering and has excellent quality products; and the Cow Shed is a fun option for a girls’ night out. At a 20-minute drive North from LIL, the Grove Hotel in Watford has wonderful grounds; a very large spa, with a large swimming pool and a wide range of treatments; and a very nice buffet restaurant, the Glasshouse. Outside of London, the Scarlett in Cornwall is an ABSOLUTE MUST, where you feel spoilt from arrival to departure. If you want to combine your spa break with a city tour, Lucknam Park Hotel is close to Bath and has brand new extensive facilities. Hartwell House near Oxford is an impressive historical building to stay in and the spa is a nice addition.
