Let's get in the mood for Christmas! Activities suggestions?

If you’re feeling brave and fit enough, a number of ice-rinks temporarily pop-up from mid-November. The ones at Somerset House (17/11 to 15/1) and the National History Museum (27/10 to 8/1) are the longest standing and take place in beautiful surroundings. But now you can find temporary ice rinks pretty much all over the place – at Wembley’s Designer Outlet (18/11-2/11), West Hampstead JW3 (3/12-2/1), Hampton Court Palace (25/11-8/1), Hyde Park (18/11-2/1) or Canary Wharf (4/11-25/2) to just name a few.
Another key London Attraction is Winter Wonderland, a giant funfair taking place in Hyde Park between 18 November and 2 January, with attraction for all ages. On top of the many rides, they are also a number of key attractions such the Ice Kingdom, two circuses and the Observation Wheel (all of which should be pre-booked).
Christmas at Kew takes place between 23 November and 2 January. The gardens get lit after dark along a 1-mile path (which, for those who already visited, has changed this year) and the experience is completely different from Kew in daytime; and quite amazing. I strongly recommend it!
And for the younger ones there are countless Santa Grottos – the one in Harrods has already sold out (!!!) but they are so many other local options! (near us in Stanmore we have Willow Farm’s and Spires Garden Centre’s, I’m sure you’ll find one near you)
